Frequently Asked Questions

  • What kind of repair work do we do at North Auto Body?

We are fully trained in doing collision repair, high strength steel, aluminum and fiberglass repairs, paint refinishing, and window/glass replacement.

  • What do I do if I've been involved in an accident?

Your safety comes first. Do not drive a vehicle that may be unsafe due to an automotive collision. We will gladly help make arrangements for your vehicle to be towed to our repair facility.

  • Do I need to report if I've been in an accident?

Some insurance companies may want you to attend a collision reporting centre before having your vehicle repaired. You can do this, or you may leave your vehicle at our facility and ask your insurance company to come and assess the damage(s). At North Auto Body, we work with all insurance companies.

  • Do I need to get multiple repair estimates?

In Ontario, there is no law that requires you to get more than one repair estimate or damage appraisal on your vehicle. However, you have the right to get as many comparison estimates as you’d like in order to help you make an informed decision about your collision repair options.

  • Am I required to take my vehicle to a specific auto body shop?

You have the right to take your vehicle to the collision repair shop of your choice. Your insurance company cannot require you to go to an auto body shop of their choice. In fact if you feel that your insurance company is strongly recommending a shop - you should resist. This practice is known as “steering”, and is illegal in Ontario.

  • Why are my repair estimates different?

Differences in repair estimates are common. A lower estimate may not include all necessary work. If you’re not sure why one estimate is different from another you’ve received, just ask us at North Auto Body to explain it to you.

  • Is it important to have a warranty for repair work?

Yes, it is important to find out if the repair shop offers a warranty or not. Here at North Auto Body, we stand behind our work, and will ensure you are fully satisfied with the repair.

  • Am I entitled to a rental vehicle?

You’re insurance policy entitles you to drive a replacement vehicle of equal quality to the vehicle that is being repaired. We’ll help to make sure you get the replacement vehicle to which you are entitled - not just the cheapest alternative.

  • Can I wash my vehicle after it's been repaired?

You can wash your car by hand, with very mild car wash soap, and a soft cloth or microfiber mitt. Always use clean water, and ensure you wash your vehicle in the shade. Never dry wipe your vehicle. You'll want to avoid automatic car washes for at least 30 days, to give your freshly painted vehicle enough time to fully cure. The abrasive brushes of automatic washes can mark and damage your new paint. However, after the 30 days we highly recommend using touch-free carwashes only, for the longevity and protection of your vehicles paint. Avoid parking under trees, as tree sap and bird droppings can etch into your paint and damage the newly painted surfaces.

  • What forms of payment do we accept?

At North Auto Body, we accept the following methods of payment: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Interac. We also accept cash.

  • Do you work on classic vehicles?

No, we do not offer services on classic vehicles.
